Driven by Saudi vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has initiated a number of national and international programs and initiatives to promote sustainable development, enhance public understanding of environmental issues, and raise both individual and collective responsibility for environmental preservation through reduced pollution and more responsible use of natural resources. 

The National Observatory for Women (NOW) is a think tank which observes and monitors the status of women both locally and internationally and measures their direct and indirect impact on society and the national development. Committed to fulfilling its objective of creating metrics, research, and analysis that enable policymakers to make well-informed decisions on women's issues and acting as a measurement reference that promotes improving women's status, NOW has conducted a survey on a representative local community sample as part of its first phase, that generally aims to investigate public awareness regarding the impact of climate change and environmental issues, as well as to showcase the individual and collective contributions to environmental preservation.
