This session introduces the work of an architectural design house that has developed the first global Green Community Guidelines designed to raise awareness and pass knowledge to rural communities on building and transforming their villages into green sustainable and independent does capable of resilience and fostering local culture and heritage.

The certification of 5 green villages in rural Egypt has become a global case study for policy reform in development planning. In 2022 a partnership led by private sector company ECONSULT was established to target SDG17 in creating a typology of project management between Private Sector, NGO’s and Government to introduce climate resilience into existing communities that promotes a participatory and sustainable approach. 

The project is in partnership with the World Green Building Council, Egypt Green Building Council and UNDP under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Project Management ECONSULT. The approach of the project is described in the session which focuses on project management for communities starting with the development of the guidelines to implementation.
